5-11. FLYWHEEL MAINTENANCE (Con't).

WARNING

Ring gear will be hot and can cause severe burns.

2. Remove ring gear (3) from oven and install in place

on flywheel (2).

d. INSTALLATION

1. Position cover plate (7) in place and install 3 bolts

(9) and new lockwashers (8).

2. Position cover (12) in place and install 4 bolts (14)

and new lockwashers (13).

3. Position flywheel housing adapter (6) in place on

engine. Install 9 bolts (11), new lockwashers (10),

socket head bolt (4), and new lockwasher (5).

4. Position flywheel (2) in place in flywheel housing

adapter (6).

5. Aline hole in flywheel (2) with alinement pin in

crankshaft. Position flywheel in place on crankshaft

and install 10 bolts (1).

FOLLOW-ON TASKS:

• Install compressor coupling (see paragraph 5-38).
